Well Played

I walked toward the field that fringed the highway hoping the wind would blow away my dejection at the lukewarm applause my play received.

When I saw two boys approaching, I gave them my best stagey evil elven smile, and they just ran off screeching in horror.

Well, the world was my audience and some parts of it found my performance very effective, I thought as I drove home to a good night’s sleep.
